this head gear is okay it covers the head very well total protection over the face great protection over the nose. The stitching kinda sucks and the padding over the face is way too hard to be comfortable during sparring. when ever you get hit on the forehead its really stiff and you can fell that the headgear dose not do a good job of absorbing the punch. Also if you get caught with a hook on the face bar it turns your head pretty hard so i put alot of vasaline over the headgear during sparring so the punch slides by. Other than that is provides great vision if this head gear had softer padding I would give it 5 stars
This headgear padding is way to hard. I can’t believe ringside put this headgear on the market. It is very tight on the temple area also.
Headgear is so hard it makes your head hurt before you spar. Has a great feel and good fit, just way to hard.
I found it to be well padded. My one complaint is that the velcro fastner on the back is a bit high and sits across the canter of my head.
I prefer my head gear to be tighter a bit lower on the back of y head as the head gear stays in place better.
The visibility is good and it is not bulky or heavy feeling.
Time will tell how well built this head gear realy is.
I just started using this headgear a few weeks ago, so take that for what you want. But so far I like it. First, let me start by saying that I broke my nose using regular headgear, so I decided to upgrade to this headgear to protect my nose. The first thing I noticed about this headgear is that when I got it, it looked a bit broken in…for a second I wondered if it had been used before, but it looks more like they’ve tried to break the padding in a little more before they sell it. I think that helped, it’s not as stiff as I expected. The visibility is really good, I can see everything. After making a few adjustments to the laces and back, it fits without moving. I will continue to adjust it as I get more used to it, but so far it has fit well. I got the small-medium size, and it fits snug, but not tight. One thing some people might not like is although the punches don’t make contact, you can still feel them. It’s not like the Winning, you’re going to feel the punches like you would in competition headgear. But as a fighter, I like this, because I compete and I don’t want to get lazy with my defense, I’m motivated to keep my hands up. But I’ve taken flush shots and the bar blocks them. The price is really good as well. I definitely recommend this headgear. I’ll update my review after a longer use.
I am at about 3 months with this headgear and I wanted to update briefly. The headgear is still working well. I’ve had to adjust the top-string and the back as I’ve broken it in more, which is normal. The padding is still firm, but it’s less stiff. I’ve noticed that if you take a perfect straight shot, it can partially penetrate the headgear, but 97% of the punches will make no contact with your face. It’s a really good headgear, especially for the price. I would highly recommend it for someone looking to protect their face from contact. Once again, be aware that you will feel the impact of the punches like you’re wearing competition headgear, but they won’t make contact like they would with regular headgear.
